MYNDIFY: A digital "second brain" app helping busy women manage personal information, created by Anggie to reduce mental load.
As a busy mother with a demanding career, Anggie found herself drowning in a relentless tide of information every day. "This constant information stream was overwhelming, causing me to forget important details and leading to costly mistakes," she recalls.
The realisation that her brain needed assistance with managing personal knowledge led her to the insight that sparked MYNDIFY.
"The human brain’s main function isn’t memory – it’s survival," Anggie notes. "Studies suggest that about 70% of new information is forgotten within the first week." This insight resonated with many around her who felt they were constantly in mental "survival mode." She observed, "Most folks are anxious about forgetting something that will negatively impact them. Miss your driver’s license renewal?
Now you can’t drive. Forget that Jane is allergic to nuts? Now someone has an allergic reaction in your home."
Recognising the lack of effective personal information management solutions, Anggie was inspired to create MYNDIFY.
"There was a clear need for a more effective personal information manager," she states. "Nothing specifically provides an organised infrastructure catered for personal information. Nothing had been designed to mimic the functionality of our minds."
MYNDIFY is designed to serve as a digital "second brain."
"Users can digitally offload their mental notes, insights, and ideas in an easy, clear, and organised manner," Anggie explains. MYNDIFY offers an organised infrastructure for thoughts that are tied to the user’s experiences and interactions, ensuring users don't have to manually organise their notes.
"Rather than having random virtual sticky notes, with MYNDIFY you'll have a rolodex of the knowledge gained from your experiences and interactions."
“If you go to a restaurant and hate the steak you ordered, you’ll want to change to something else next time”, she says. “The problem is that when next time comes, you’ll most likely forget that unpleasant experience and repeat your mistake”. MYNDIFY serves as a way to record your insights so users can make informed choices.
Aside from its orderly and unique design, what sets MYNDIFYapart is its ability to turn stored data into actionable reminders. "In other words, users do not have to remember… to remember," Anggie highlights. "Going back to that restaurant? MYNDIFY will remind you not to order that steak again."
MYNDIFY also enables users to share their experiences and insights with others. "Learned a parking hack for the local mall? Now you can let your friends know," she adds. "It’s everything you need to offload your mental load and reclaim your peace of mind.
While MYNDIFY is designed for anyone needing help with personal knowledge management, Anggie has identified a primary target demographic: women.
"Women typically take on the responsibility of managing their family and household, even while working," she observes. "They are the ones keeping up with the household shopping, personal care for others, and calendar management."
Women are also more inclined to write down information versus keeping it in their heads. "MYNDIFY enhances this process by offering a centralised and organised way to store and access information," Anggie explains. Furthermore, women tend to be the primary decision-makers regarding product consumption and experiences.
"MYNDIFY supports this by allowing users to see personal preferences, reviews, and opinions from others, aiding in more informed decision-making," she adds.
To reach this target demographic, MYNDIFY is implementing a multi-faceted marketing strategy, leveraging social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest.
"By creating valuable content and engaging with users, MYNDIFY will build a strong community that resonates with the modern woman," Anggie states. Encouraging satisfied users to share their experiences is also a key part of the plan. "There is no better way to reach leads than referrals from current users," she notes.
As a non-tech founder with a background in finance, Anggie faced significant challenges navigating the tech industry. "I initially strived to even keep up with the tech 'lingo' during discussions and negotiations," she admits. To overcome this, Anggie dedicated several months to learning about software development, the app market, and the technology powering MYNDIFY. "I took online courses, listened to podcasts, and sought advice from industry experts to bridge my knowledge gap," she says.
Anggie partnered with a top-tier software development firm to translate her vision for MYNDIFY into a coded reality. Adopting a hands-on approach, Anggie involved herself directly in the development process. "This not only enhanced my technical knowledge but also allowed me to effectively communicate with my development team and ensure that MYNDIFY's vision was accurately translated into the final product," she explains.
Believing deeply in MYNDIFY's potential, Anggie has decided to bootstrap the company during its initial scaling phase.
"For MYNDIFY to succeed it must be led by someone that is deeply embedded within the target market," she asserts. Her first-hand understanding of the market’s needs and challenges allows her to develop solutions that resonate authentically with users.
This approach has not only allowed her to stay true to the company's mission but has also attracted attention from early adopters and potential investors who appreciate the genuine connection to the user base.
Anggie’s commitment to growing MYNDIFY organically reflects her confidence in the product's value and her dedication to creating a tool that genuinely improves people’s lives.
Anggie's short-term goal is to have a successful inaugural year.
"Success means introducing a high-quality product that effectively helps users retain and utilise their mental notes," she explains. In the long term, she aims to reach 100,000 daily active users and expand globally. "To achieve these milestones, I am focusing on a simple and intuitive design, ensuring our features genuinely resonate with users' needs and preferences," she says.
To scale the company domestically and internationally, Anggie plans to leverage targeted marketing campaigns and partnerships.
"By staying attuned to the users' evolving needs and maintaining a commitment to excellence, I am confident that MYNDIFY will be established as a leading solution in the global market for personal knowledge management," she concludes.
